  • One must hold a Driver’s License that has expired for up to 9 years.

Those applicants that have expired license for ten years or more are no longer qualified for renewal and, therefore, should start from scratch and reapply for a student permit. Only those Licenses that have expired for more than 2 years (but not ten years or more) can still apply for renewal, but official department must take the theoretical and practical driving exams.

1-How to Renew Your Driver’s License in the Philippines in-Person

      1. One should make sure you have an account on the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal. Otherwise, sign up here for registration.

3-How To Renew LTO Driver’s License Online via the LTO LTMS Portal

Driver’s license renewal can now be online, thanks to the new LTO and Land Transportation Management System (LTMS). LTMS provides an online platform for Filipinos to renew their expired drivers licenses.

Once you have applied online via LTMS for your license ‘ll be  renewed, there’s no need to physically arriving at the LTO office on your appointment date. These are the steps which teach you how to register  and renew your driver’s license through your LTMS account in Philippines.

Part I: LTMS Registration

  1. Visit the LTO online portal or Land Transportation Management System  homepage at here.
  2. Click the Register Now button.

  10. Enter the email address for receiving the verification message and your phone number. Must remember that it may take a maximum of 24 hours before you receive the verification message via your an email address.
  11. For continue your registration process must click the link in the verification message in email.
  12. Create a strong password . To do this, complete your registration. After that you are now ready to use LTMS for your driver’s license renewal

Part II: Online Driver’s License Renewal via the LTMS in The Philippines

Here are the steps you have to follow to renew your LTO driver’s license online by LTMS Portal:

  1. Login to the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) online portal.
  2. Select Licensing in the LTMS dashboard.
  3. Read thoroughly the LTMS Terms of Use. Click the blue Accept button to continue next.
  4. On given  Application form, select Driver’s License as the License Classification. Don’t click the Next button because you have to provide a medical certificate before proceeding to the renewal process next.
  5. Add Medical Certificate. You will be asked to enter your Medical Certificate Number upon clicking this button. Encode the requested information, then click Verify.
  6. Select Renewal as the type of application required. Click the Next button to continue.
  7. Select your nearest preferred appointment schedule and LTO Office.

4-How To Renew Driver’s License in the Philippine if You’re an OFW

Renewing your Philippine driver’s license online as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is now simpler , OFWs can have their Driver’s License renewed at the LTO License Section Central/ Office. If OWF is outside Metro Manila, renewal applications  can be accepted at any LTO District Office or Licensing Center.

3. Step-by-step Guide

License Renewal Application through a Representative:

  1. Go to the customer service counter and get the Application Form and the requirements checklist. The applicant may download the application form online Portal and fill it out before the representative’s transaction at the LTO Office.
  2. Go to the Evaluator Counter and submit all the initial mandatory requirements. You have them checked for completeness and authenticity of application.
  3. Head to the cashier pay the corresponding fees.
  4. Head to the Releasing Counter and get the Driver’s License Receipt, which should be functioned as a Temporary Driver’s License.
